Drum roll please! I am thrilled to reveal the cover of my forthcoming picture book, Backyard Birds of Puget Sound: Children’s Field Guide, illustrations by Anya Macleod. Isn’t it gorgeous? Available May, 2019.
About the Book
Backyard Birds of Puget Sound is a field guide for young children who want to attract and support avian visitors to their backyards. Both beautiful and factual, this guide includes 70 watercolor illustrations of the most frequently observed backyard birds with notes on sizes and distinguishing markings. Birds are the perfect hook for getting kids interested in nature, and a window into that world is all you need to get them started on this exciting lifelong hobby. Easy-to-understand introductions to birds, native plants of the Pacific Northwest, and housing and feeding cover the basics of birdwatching and how to best attract and care for species commonly found in our backyards.
