Growing up, I was lucky enough to have parents who designated a room in the house as the “den” — reserving one wall, floor to ceiling, for books — and in so doing gifted me with a love of books that has stayed with me my entire life. What I love most about books is being transported to other places, other times, other lives. I can go on an incredible adventure and meet amazing characters without ever leaving home. To this day, I remain a voracious reader, consuming nearly a book a day. It always thrills me to champion reasons to read, and World Book Day is just such an occasion. World Book Day is a global celebration of reading, authors, and books, recognized in more than 100 countries worldwide.
I hope you’ll join in this celebration by sharing why you #LovetoRead. From April 17 to 23, post about why you #LovetoRead on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Encourage your family, friends and colleagues to do the same!
